Saskatoon Saskatchewan entrepreneur John Remai has turned his love of building into a hobby that is now a special project to fundraise for equipment for the new Children's Hospital in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. After many years of building and managing hotels, motels, apartments and condominiums, John promised himself that when he retired, his favorite hobby would become a benefit to the community.

Since the spring of 2009, John has been making birdhouses and feeders to give complimentary to donors when they make a specified donation amount to the The Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan . Already a major financial donor to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, John felt that by using his hobby for enjoyment, people can donate to the CHFS and at the same time receive one of his outstanding designs complimentary.

A special letter from the Children's Hospital Foundation

The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan (CHFS) has been working since 1992 to raise awareness and funds for pediatric healthcare needs within the province and to bring a children’s hospital to Saskatchewan. On March 18, 2009 the financial commitment of $200 million dollars was delivered within the provincial budget. These funds will be directed toward the “bricks and mortar” of the new children’s hospital and will be provided as construction begins. A dedicated children’s hospital will foster continued development, attraction and retention of top pediatric medical professionals. It will house the very best of diagnostic and treatment tools and create exciting new research opportunities for the health professionals. The Children’s Hospital Foundation is very grateful for the major financial contribution from John and Sonya Remai as well as their ongoing gift of time and talent as JR’s Designer Birdhouses provides complimentary woodworking creations as a thank you for your support of the new children’s hospital.
